Web Launch

Dennis Hansen, Secretary of CHE commented:

“Our aim is to encourage people not only to support the CHE project but also to promote the social benefits of allotment gardening which include benefits to health, education and community well-being.  As we now have a website, we can promote allotment gardening to an even wider public who will see the benefits of raising vegetables, fruit and flowers for both eating and exhibiting.

Community Gardens are unique in their ability to bring people together to make all manner of magic happen. In our case a blight sight has been transformed into a place of beauty where neighbours get to know each while sharing seeds and recipes.

We have to thank Coni Reihill, Chairman and Dermot McGoldrick, Vice-Chairman of CHE, who developed a very well designed website which acts as a 24 hour/365 day shop window for our garden project. While we are all sleeping it is still working.”

Volunteers and staff from EverybodyOnline, a project delivered by the charity Citizens Online on behalf of BT and the Department of Finance and Personnel to help communities take advantage of the opportunities the internet has to offer, were also on hand to show people how to use the internet and log onto the website.
